TM 10-4320-307-244-10LUBE OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY REPAIR (CONT).REPAIR/ASSEMBLY:NOTERepair of lube oil pump is limited to replacement of damaged or worn parts.1.Install bypass valve (1) as follows:NOTEThe DFC pressure valve fixture consists of a locating plate and reversible mandrel. Theplate installs over the bypass valve bore, located in the oil pump body, with twocapscrews.a.Install locating plate (2) on pump body (3) using two 5/16-18UNC x 1-1/4-inch capscrews (4) screwed in handtight.b.Install large diameter end of mandrel (5) through locating plate and into bypass valve bore.c.Tighten two capscrews (4) and remove mandrel (5).d.Install bypass valve spring (6), washer (7), valve disc (8), and retaining plug (9) through locating plate (2) intovalve bore being sure that prongs on disc face down and cupped side of retaining plug is up.e.Install small end of mandrel (5) in bore of locating plate(2).f.Press mandrel (5) with arbor press until large diameterof mandrel is against locating plate (2).g.Remove locating plate (2).4-76
