This manual lists spares and repairparts; special tools; special test, measurement, anddiagnostic equipment (TMDE), and other specialsupport equipment required for performance oforganizational, direct support, and general sup-port maintenance of the Tank and Pump Unit. Itauthorizes the requisitioning and issue of sparesand repair parts as indicated by the source andmaintenance codes.2. General. This Repair Parts and Special ToolsList is divided into the following sections:a. Section II. Repair Parts List. A list of sparesand repair parts authorized for use in the per-formance of maintenance. The list also includesparts which must be removed for replacement ofthe authorized parts. Parts lists are composed offunctional groups in numeric sequence, with theparts in each group listed in figure and itemnumber sequence. Bulk materials are listed inNSN sequence.b. Section III. Special Tools List. A list ofspecial tools, special TMDE, and other specialsupport equipment authorized for the performanceof maintenance.c. Section IV. National Stock Number and PartNumber Index. A list, in National item identifica-tion number (NIIN) sequence, of all National stocknumbers (NSN) appearing in the listings, followedby a list in alphameric sequence, of all partnumbers appearing in the listings. National stocknumbers and part numbers are cross-referenced toeach illustration figure and item number ap-pearance. This index is followed by a cross-reference list of reference designators to figure anditem numbers.3. Explanation of Columns.a. Illustration. This column is divided asfollows:(1) Figure Number.Indicates the figurenumber of the illustration on which the item isshown.(2) Item Number. The number used to identifyitem called out in the illustration.b. Source, Maintenance and Recoverability(SMR) Codes.(1) Source Code. Source codes indicate themanner of acquiringsupportitems formaintenance, repair or overhaul of end items.Source codes are entered in the first and secondpositions of the Uniform SMR Code format asfollows:CodePAPBPCPDPEPFPGKDKFDefinitionItem procureda n d s t o c k e d f oranticipated or known usage.Item procured and stocked for insurancepurposes because essentiality dictatesthat a minimum quantity be available inthe supply system.Item procured and stocked and whichotherwise would be coded PA exceptthat it is deteriorative in nature.Support item,excluding supportequipment, procured for initial issue oroutfitting and stocked only for subse-quent or additional initial issues or out-fitting.Not subject to automaticreplenishment.Support equipment procured andstocked for initial issue or outfitting tospecified maintenance repair activities.Support equipment which will not bestocked but which will be centrally pro-cured on demand.Item procured and stocked to providefor sustained support for the life of theequipment. It is applied to an itempeculiar to the equipment which,because of probable discontinuance orshutdown of production facilities, wouldprove uneconomical to reproduce at alater time.An item of a depot overhaul/repair kitand not purchased separately. Depot kitdefined as a kit that provides items re-quired at the time of overhaul or repair.An item of a maintenance kit and notpurchased separately. Maintenance kitdefined as a kit that provides an itemthat can be replaced at organizational orintermediate levels of maintenance.1
