The engine is equipped with a rubber plug in the rocker
arm cover to aid in cold weather starting. The plug is re-
moved and a small quantity of engine oil is added before
starting.

For the diesel-driven centrifugal pump to be ready at all times, it must be inspected systematically so that de-
fects may be discovered and corrected before they result in serious damage or failure.
