4.
Remove batteries as follows:
Avoid making contact across the battery
terminals. This can result in severe arcing
which could cause an explosion resulting in
bodily injury.
a.
Remove four wingnuts (18) and two hold-down
bars (19).
Serious injury could occur from the careless
handling of storage batteries or battery
electrolyte (acid). If acid is splashed on the
skin, wash the affected area immediately
with plenty of clean water. If acid is
splashed in the eyes, wash immediately with
plenty of clean water and get medical
attention.
b.
Lift and remove batteries (20) from battery box
(21).
5.
Remove charging receptacle as follows:
a.
Tag positive charging cable (22), negative
charging cable (23), and positive terminal (24) and
negative terminal (25) of charging receptacle (26).
b.
Remove screws (27) and lockwashers (28) that
secure cables to terminals.
c.
Remove four screws (29) and lockwashers (30)
that secure charging receptacle (26) to bracket
(31).
d.
Remove charging receptacle (26) with gasket (32)
and insulator (33).
