Press out old guides with valve guide mandrel,

Valves
Replace any valves that show head warping, burn-
ing, or other damage. Replace valves that have
seriously scratched or scuffed stems; or pitted,
ridged, or cracked tulips, faces, or heads. Replace
valves that have a valve joint face thickness less
than 0.0197 inch (0.5 mm) for inlet or exhaust
valve. Remove slight scratches or scuff marks with
P-C-458 crocus cloth.

Compression
Replace compression springs that are pitted,
springs, valve
fractured, excessively worn, or damaged. Replace
cones, caps,
any compression spring that has an unloaded
valve rotators,
fatigue length of less than 2.2047 inches (56 mm).
and snap rings
Replace both compression springs if necessary. Re-
place valve cones, caps, and rotators that are
fractured, excessively worn, or damaged. Replace
snap rings.
