FUEL FILTER (CONT)
Severe burns, illness, or death can result from improper handling of gaso-
line. When working with gasoline:
· Do not inhale vapors.
· Work in well-ventilated area.
· Do not work near open flame, sparks, or excessive heat.
1. Shutoff valve
Turn shutoff valve (1) in to OFF.
Loosen nut (2) on bail.
3. Bail and bowl
Swing bail (3) aside and remove fuel bowl (4).
Clean parts in a well-ventilated area. Avoid inhalation of solvent fumes and
prolonged exposure of skin to cleaning solvent. Wash exposed skin thoroughly.
Dry cleaning solvent (fed. spec. P-D-680) used to clean parts is potentially
dangerous to personnel and property. Do not use near open flame or excessive
heat. Flash point of solvent is 100° F (38° C).
Clean inside of bowl with dry cleaning solvent,
P-D-680, and wipe dry.
