Description Oil Filler Cap Dipstick COLD START AID AUTO DEFEAT MANUAL THROTTLE Function Prevents entry of foreign matter into engine crankcase. Remove to add engine oil. Used to check oil level. Dipstick has an add mark and a full mark. Add oil when engine oil level falls to or below the add mark. Do not fill above full mark. Used to start engine in cold temperatures. Is connected to a bottle of starting fluid (ETHER) stowed on the engine compartment. Handle is pulled to SET (load starting fluid into) the system. Once set, pushing the handle will inject the starting fluid (ETHER) into engine cylinders. Used to disable governor system when manual engine operation is desired. Used to control engine speed when THROTTLE SELECT Switch (Figure 2-3, 12) is in MANUAL position. 2-7 TM 10-4320-344-10
