4-14. REPLACE/INSPECT/REPAIR PUMP CASING

Common No. 2 (Item 4, Appendix B,
Check valve assembly and suction
discharge pipes removed.
Hook Pick (Item 16, Appendix B,
Volute assembly removed.
Hex Key Drive (Item 11, Appendix B,
Impeller, shaft seal, shaft adapter
Wear plate removed.
Recoil starter assembly removed.
Cloth, Lint-free (Item 11, Appendix E
Completely drain the pump by removing pipe cap (1), pipe nipple (2), and bushing adapter (3).
Remove pipe plug (8) and bushing adapter (9).
Remove four self-sealing screws (6).
Separate pump casing (4) from engine.
Wipe surface areas with dean, dry cloth.
When using compressed air, always use chip guards and wear eye
Inspect all surfaces and edges for cracks.
Blow out suspicious looting and difficult to reach areas with compressed air to remove deposits and
Inspect threaded inserts for damaged threads.
