Dry cleaning solvent is potentially dangerous. Avoid repeated and prolonged breathing
of vapors and skin contact with the liquid. Do not use near open flame, arcing
equipment, or other ignition source. Always wear eye protection and protective clothing.
Death or serious injury could occur if compressed air is directed against the skin. Do not
use compressed air for cleaning or drying unless the pressure is/has been reduced to 30
psi (2.11 kgcm2) or less. When working with compressed air always use chip guards,
eye protection, and other personal protective equipment.
Clean, inspect, and repair cam follower parts as follows:
Clean cam follower parts with dry cleaning solvent and dry with compressed air.
Visually inspect cam follower shafts for scoring or damage.
Use micrometers to measure outside diameter of shaft. Shaft must measure 0.7485 to 0.7490 inch (18.012 to
19.02 mm). Replace shaft if it is damaged or outside diameter measures less than 0.748 inch (19.00 mm).
Visually inspect locking screw holes for damaged or distorted threads.
Visually inspect locking screw grooves in each shaft. The grooves must be clean and not damaged.
Visually inspect cam follower housings for cracks or damage. Discard if damaged or worn.
