4.10.12 Alternator Maintenance.

Alternator V-belt removed

Ensure both wheels are secure.
Do not work on alternator with negative battery cable connected.
Failure to obey these warnings may result in serious personal injury.
Disconnect negative battery cable.
Tag and disconnect alternator quick disconnect lead (figure 4-16, 1).
Remove nut (2).
Tag and disconnect wire (3).
Remove nut (4) and lockwasher (5). Tag and disconnect wire (6).
Remove bolt (7), lockwasher (8), washer (9), bolt (10), lockwasher (11),
washer (12) and alternator (13).
Position alternator (13) in place on engine.
Install, but do not fully tighten, washer (12), lockwasher (11), bolt (10),
washer (9), lockwasher (8), and bolt (7).
Install wire (6), lockwasher (5) and nut (4).
Install wire (3) and nut (2).
Connect alternator quick disconnect lead (1).
Connect negative battery cable.
